Description
Approved the release of 10.0 million tonnes of wheat and 500 000 tonnes of rice from public stocks through the Open Market Sales Scheme. In the case of rice, the supplies will be released to retail buyers at a price of 18.75 (USD 0.31) per kilo, plus freight costs. The measure is geared at containing upward pressure on domestic prices and freeing up storage space in public granaries.
