Description
Food Reserve Agency (FRA) purchases 1.3 million tonnes of maize between June and October, following a 2011 record maize harvest of 3 million tonnes. The procurement price is set at USD 273 per tonne (ZMK 1.3 million), similar to last year\'s level, despite falling market prices, to maintain farmers income.
