International technical conference on climate change, agricultural trade and food security

15-17 November 2017. FAO Headquarters, Rome, Italy

The State of Agricultural Commodity Markets (SOCO), one of the Organization’s flagship publications, addresses the latest developments and trends in global agricultural commodity markets. In its 2018 edition, the report will focus on the role of agricultural trade and trade policies in promoting food security and sustainable agricultural production in the context of climate change.

In preparation for the report, this conference will explore the linkages between climate change, agricultural trade and food security. It will provide an opportunity for academics and practitioners from around the world to come together and exchange ideas on the study and management of the ways in which climate change will affect agricultural production and international agricultural trade.

The main conference language will be English. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in French and Spanish.

Participants
International Organizations, academics, practitioners and consultants involved in the study and management of the ways in which climate change will affect agricultural production and international agricultural trade.

 Background and Call for Papers

Registration is now closed.
Presenters are invited to take note of the submission deadlines in the call for papers.

Eligibility for sponsorship
In line with its mandate to promote food security for all and help countries to achieve this objective, FAO will cover airfare and board expenses for a number of presenters, depending on the relevance of the submitted work to the theme of the Conference. In view of budget considerations, presenters from developing countries, and particularly least developed countries, will be given priority.
