Open Ended Working Group

At the request of the 68th Session of the CCP which was held in June 2010, an open-ended working group, under the chairmanship of the Chair of the CCP, was formed to look into the roles and working arrangements of the CCP. This was endorsed by the Council at its 140th Session in December 2010.

The first meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group on CCP Reform (OEWG-CCP) was held on 13 December 2010 to define the scope and terms of reference of the Working Group’s activities, to identify priorities and to define its way of working and a work programme. To continue the discussions of the last meeting and agree on recommendations on a number of specific issues, the Working Group met for the second time on 22 November 2011.

Finally, the third meeting was convened on 8 February 2012 to continue the discussions on the CCP reform and its subsidiary bodies and agree on the recommendations put forward for consideration at 69th session of the CCP on 28-30 May 2012.
