THE SAHEL IN THE 2016 HUMANITARIAN APPEALS

FAO IS WORKING WITH PARTNERS TO

Provide emergency agricultural assistance to populations hit by insecurity and conflict

Protect the livelihoods of households exposed to climate hazards

Strengthen food security analysis, early warning systems and sectoral coordination

   

HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE PLAN

FAO requires

USD 117.3 million

of which: USD 51.8 million to respond to climate hazards
USD 40 million in response to Boko Haram/Lake Chad basin crisis
USD 25.5 million in response to insecurity in the region (CAR, Mali and Sudanese refugees in Chad)

to assist

4.1 million people
