Sub-national training workshop on how to better integrate nutrition into food security programming

27/10/2014

From 25/11/2014 To 27/11/2014
Location: Wau and Kujoc, South-Sudan

Two sub-national training workshops are planned in South Sudan: in Wau from 25 to 27 November and in Kujoc 2-4 December 2014.

The Sub-national Training Workshops will build the capacity of governments and humanitarian field practitioners on how to better integrate nutrition into food security programming. These events are opportunities to strengthen skills in needs assessment, design, implementation and M&E of integrated nutrition and food security interventions, and to share experience on successful (and less successful) practices in the region for a diversity of food security and nutrition interventions (agriculture, cash, livestock, markets etc.).

The trainings will be carried out by the Training of Trainers (ToTs) from South Sudan, who took part in the Regional Training Workshop on Integration of Nutrition and Food Security Programming and Training of Trainers Sessions from 24 February to 1 March 2014 in Nairobi.

Who can attend? We are looking forward to gathering government and humanitarian nutrition and food security professionals working in emergency and resilience-building programming in Western Bahr el Ghazal and Warrap. The participants representing the agencies must be technical or programme staff; the agency must be implementing in at least one of the sectors (food security or nutrition), but preference will be given to those who implement both; the agency must also be a member of Food Security cluster or Nutrition cluster.

The selected participants must attend the whole three days. Kindly note that this is a non-resident workshop. Space is also limited to 30 participants per workshop. The specific venues in Wau and Kujoc will be communicated soon.
