Emergency Management Centre for Animal Health | Achievements
The Emergency Management Centre for Animal Health (EMC‑AH) is FAO's leading global centre for animal health emergency management – playing a critical role in strengthening country, regional and international preparedness and response capacity to reduce the impact of animal health emergencies.
During the period from November 2017–October 2018: EMC‑AH coordinated 15 animal health disease events, expanded its role and diversified resource partnerships to build animal health emergency management capacity around the world. EMC-AH supported six rapid response missions, coordinated six animal disease incidents and contributed to preparedness activities. It alsosponsored the Rift Valley Fever Regional Technical Workshop in Eastern Africa and supported the Emergency Regional Consultative Meeting on African Swine Fever Risk Reduction and Preparedness in East Asia.
