This distribution is part of a Rapid Response Mission (RRM) that FAO, OXFAM, Save the Children and WFP are conducting to provide food, medicines, seeds and fishing kits to extremely vulnerable populations in South Sudan. Fighting between Government and opposition forces last April displaced thousands of civilians to Padding and Lankien, both still under opposition control. The massive displacement, that doubled the population, led to heightened levels of food insecurity, an outbreak of cholera and a serious need for health assistance, drinking water and food and livelihoods support among the displaced and hosting populations, according to the local leaders.
