Database

The database provides information on crop specific plant nutrient management in a number of countries (district level specifications on crops, yields, cropping practices, plant nutrients requirements as per extension service recommendations).

Although the website has been developed to support farmers and policymakers within a long-term planning framework, it is also used as a tool to provide baseline information on fertilizer requirements of affected farmers.

This methodology combines information derived from historical disasters with remote sensing data, to improve anticipation of information on natural hazard impact, and support action planning during and immediately following an event.

The entries in this data base document good practices which have been successfully field tested in the context of various FAO projects. They have been collected in order to be shared and to facilitate their further adaptation and dissemination, with the aim of avoiding or limiting the adverse impacts of future natural hazards and increasing the level of preparedness for emergency situations
