Seed distribution in Somalia

Seed distribution in Somalia
Mar 2018

In the fourth quarter of the emergency drought response and recovery project for Somalia, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has continued to improve the food security and nutrition situation of rural households in Somalia, which has been struggling after multiple crop failures in a context of conflict and overall fragility.

These improvements include significant gains in food consumption, household dietary diversity and families’ ability to cope in times of crisis. FAO has continued to respond to the situation with a combination of cash, livelihood support and disaster risk reduction interventions. The project interventions have continued to produce positive change on the food security status of project beneficiaries.
