Jul 2016
In response to the ongoing crisis in South Sudan, FAO has been providing critical agricultural inputs to extremely vulnerable families in an effort to ensure they can produce food during the coming season. Seed fairs are one way in which seeds are distributed. These essentially involve giving vulnerable families vouchers with a pre-set value that they can use to ‘buy’ seeds at a local fair that has been organized with local traders. More than 80 000 families have been reached through seed/input trade fairs in 2016 so far.
