The Italian Youth Forum Congress considered the Education for Rural People (ERP) an essential initiative strengthening youth partnerships. Education for rural youth of developing countries was considered as a crucial step to reach the Millennium Development Goals and particularly the Goals 1, 2 and 3 focusing on poverty reduction and food security, universal primary education and gender equity.
The Congress, organized by Italian Youth Organizations Forum, was held at Domus Mariae in Rome on 17 December. The Forum attended by representatives from more than 40 organizations - works at national level promoting youth policies in Italy. The Italian Forum recently became member of the European Youth Forum Council as a step to improve dialogue with Global institutions and share partnership activities.
