During the Italia Africa Event organized by the Municipality of Rome, from 21 to 25th May 2007, the staff of the ERP Coordination Unit participated in the following meetings:

On 22 May, Women build the Peace: the Experience of Rwanda, Musei Capitolini. The meeting was opened by Dr. Rita Levi Montalcini, Nobel Prize for the Medicine, and focused on women's role for the reconstruction process in Rwanda after the war. The event was organized by the European Commission, Regione Lazio and Comune di Roma, in collaboration with the United Nations, NGO's and Associations.

On Tuesday 24 May, "I nostri compagni piú a Sud del mondo"organized by the ONLUS "Le impronte degli uccelli (L.I.D.U. 2) per la Tanzania". The event aimed at sensibilizing children of the primary school "Contardo Ferrini" on the African situation.

On 25 May three meetings were attended: "The school for Africa" organized by UNICEF. It was an overview of roman schools initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa with the participation of CIES, ASAL, AIFO, PRO.DO.C.S. "Future Capabilities: Winning the Challenge in Africa" organized by the Istituto Italiano per l'Africa e l'Oriente (IsIAO) and the African Diplomatic Body commissioned to the Quirinale, the Italian Institutions, The United Nations, the Italian and African civil society discussed the strategic and transversal relevance of environmental and the human rights protection which are the key issues for reaching the Millennium Development Goals.

The International Conference was promoted by WWF with the participation with Legaambiente, IES, Jane Goodall, Greenpeace, Comitato Cittadino per la Cooperazione Decentrata, Ghanaccop and No excuse 20015 UN Campaign. Incontro dei Popoli in Piazza"; the event was held at Tor Bella Monaca, Rome. It was organized by Noi Ragazzi del Mondo, M.A.I.S, Comunitá di Capodarco, A.R.C.I and Terre Madri- ONLUS.
