Roles of Agriculture Project (ROA)

The Socio-Economic Analysis and Policy Implications of the Roles of Agriculture in Developing Countries is an ongoing research programme whose goal is to enhance current thinking about the environmental, social and economic roles of agriculture in order to provide policy guidance for improved development strategies in developing countries. The project is also referred to as the Roles of Agriculture project, or simply ROA.

An overview of the project and its recent evolution can be found in Project Background. For information on completed project work, see Empirical Analysis (Phase I). Ongoing project work is presented in the Policy Analysis (Phase II) sections.

A listing of those who have contributed their expertise to the ROA project can be found under Project Staff. The Links section provides a series of internet links of interest to those studying the various roles of agriculture in developing countries.
