Food security success stories

ESA is undertaking a series of case studies across the world to provide an in-depth analysis of the state of world hunger. They will be used as background for a series of papers identifying good practice which will then be used for further analyses for cross-country comparisons of food security policies. The case studies, which should be finished by early July next year, will provide useful information in their own right and serve as valuable reference points for future cross-country analysis.

Promoting CARIFORUM/CARICOM food security

The general objective of the Government of Italy/FAO supported CARIFORUM Food Security Project is to improve the food security situation of the CARIFORUM states both individually and as a whole, by increasing the availability and access to adequate quantities of safe, quality assured food products to food insecure and poor rural communities across the region.

Market information and institutional development in CARIFORUM

The general objective of the project is to contribute to regional food security by assisting the CARIFORUM countries to increase the competitiveness of CARIFORUM agriculture by promoting greater capacity to produce and market agricultural products competitively at national, regional and international levels.
