Enhancing on-farm wild biodiversity

Agricultural producers can also conserve wild biodiversity within agricultural ecosystems.

Farmers could contribute to the conservation of wild biodiversity in agricultural areas by adopting farming systems that support the joint  practice of biodiversity conservation with agricultural products: enhance wildlife habitat on farms and establish corridors that link uncultivated spaces; mimic natural habitats by integrating productive perennial plants; use sustainable farming systems; and modify land management practices in order to improve habitat quality in and around farmlands(16).
