Ex-ante Carbon Balance Tool- EX-ACT
EX-ACT is a tool aimed at providing ex-ante measurements of the impact of agriculture and forestry development projects on GHG emissions and C sequestration, indicating its effects on the Carbon-balance. It will guide the project design process and the decision making on funding aspects, complementing the usual ex-ante economic analysis of investments projects. It is being developed with FAO Investment Centre Division (TCI) and Policy Assistance Division (TCA), with the French Institute for Research and Development (IRD).

Carbon Finance for smallholders
A new methodology, that will allow greenhouse gas emission reductions from sustainable grazing systems to be accounted and traded under the voluntary market, is being developed in collaboration with the FAO livestock department (AGAL) and external partners. To facilitate its use, we are also developing a guidebook to enable smallholders to access carbon finance.
