EuFMDiS is a data demanding simulation model which uses many parameters for the different phases of the disease transmission and control processes. One of the strengths of the model is that values for all parameters can be provided by the user. However, given the large amount of parameter values required, this quality can easily become a weakness when the generation and provision of data to the model is taken lightly.

Methods that allow a critical assessment of the quality of the data sources can identify potential weaknesses in the model parameterization. These weak parameters can be improved by specific data collections exercises or expert elicitation, which will improve the quality of the simulation.

The objectives of the workshop is to demonstrate the newest development of the EuFMDiS model and to discuss on future development plans of the model.
