In this short tutorial Professor David Paton explains the procedure for clinical examination of cattle suspected to be suffering from foot-and-mouth disease(FMD). The video includes a suggested procedure, practical advice and footage of typical FMD lesions and clinical signs. It was filmed in Nepal as part of EuFMDs Real Time Training programme.

In this short tutorial Professor David Paton demonstrates the procedure for collection of samples from the oropharynx of ruminants using a probang cup. This procedure can be used to detect FMD virus in clinically recovered animals and is important in detection of the FMD carrier state.
