Reports

The Commission works with Member Nations on their preparedness, with European neighbors to put in place sustainable control programmes, to support and promote the global strategy for Progressive Control of Foot-and-mouth and Similar Transboundary animal Disease (FAST) through close partnership with DG-SANTE of the European Commission (EC), with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organisation of Animal Health (WOAH).

The Commission produces the following reports, also in collaboration with partners and stakeholders including:

Quarterly Reports
The Commission publishes a quarterly report on the FMD Disease situation, based on information sources which include databases such as EMPRES-AH/GLEWS, EMPRES-i, WOAH, WAHID, WRLFMD. The Quarterly Reports are a continuation of the Global Monthly Reports (GMRs), a series of reports published monthly by the Commission since 2011. All the previous GMRs can be found on the Quarterly Reports webpage. 

FAST Reports
The FAST quarterly report of significant events provides relevant and regular risk information to risk managers operating in EuFMD Member Nations and neighboring countries. The constant monitoring of the epidemiological situation as well as the information obtained from control and surveillance strategies in the European neighbourhood can contribute to increase awareness on major animal disease threats for Europe and the regions of North Africa, Middle East and South East European Neighbourhood.

General Session
General sessions are held every two years at FAO headquarters in Rome and are attended by representatives of all Member Nations and observers.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee of the EuFMD meets every six months. maintains an oversight and guidance on the components development while the workplan is implemented by the EuFMD Secretariat. The Committee seek support from DG-SANTE for those parts of the programme it is able to support and to leverage support from the member states.

Research Group
The Research group contribute to resolving technical issues through review of the latest research, will provide expert scientific opinion as a result of their individual expertise in FMD research.

Narrative Reports
The Report on the EC Funded Activities in the EuFMD Program, or 'Narrative report' outlines the Commission's activities at regular intervals. Progress is detailed in revised work plans for the term of the programme which is  agreed at the biennial EuFMD Executive Committee Sessions.

Regional FMD Roadmaps
Regional roadmap meetings are organized within the seven major virus Pools, to consolidate a long-term vision for control under the Global Framework for progressive control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF-TADs). These meeting convene under a collaboration between FAO, WOAH, EuFMD, regional economic communities and regional organisations.

World Reference Laboratory for Foot-and-Mouth Disease
The reports of the World Reference Laboratory for FMD (WRLFMD), are distributed quarterly by focal points of the FAO and OIE Reference laboratories for FMD.

Regional Workshops
Regional workshops often can help to create an improved system for monitoring and evaluation, improve capacities, methods and guidelines for application progressive FMD control strategy. In addition, coordination meetings can help improve international FMD reference laboratory services and their contributions to regional epidemiology surveillance networks.
