Forestry

SummerActivities of FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia aim to foster the contribution of the forest sector to sustainable development of countries in the region. In close collaboration with FAO Forestry Department work is carried out in the organizational framework of the Integrated Program of Work of the FAO European Forestry Commission (EFC) and the UNECE Timber Committee (TC).

The Strategy for FAO and UNECE Forestry Activities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia was elaborated through a participatory approach with the involvement of FAO/UNECE member countries and international organizations. The FAO-EFC and UNECE-TC bureaux adopted this Strategy and review on this base the directions of activities to be carried out by FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia as well as the FAO Subregional Office for Central Asia. The Strategy identifies the major Program Elements and External Partners and sets the framework for annual operational planning.
