Ad-hoc meeting of lumpy skin disease (LSD) experts

Belgrade, Serbia, 25/07/2016 - 25/07/2016

The small meeting of LSD experts (epidemiology, virology and risk assessment) will aim to review, based on scientific evidence, the current measures of LSD prevention and control.
Current objectives of the meeting include: 1) Review current measures, and propose updated guidance, to be taken after confirmation of LSD on a holding, including the question of alternatives to burial on site; 2) Review the measures to be taken after confirmation of LSD in animals recently vaccinated against LSDV; 3) Review measures relating to restocking of holdings depopulated after LSDV, and movement of animals after vaccination; and 4) Identify the likely course of events for spread of infection within the Balkan and Central European region and impact and likely duration of control options.
