"Best practices in Green Jobs creation for ensuring sustainability of rural households and resource use" 28-30 May 2012, Prague, Czech Republic
The purpose of the workshop was to assist the participating countries in building and development of capacities to facilitate “greener” development of small-scale farming sector in countries in transition.
In particular, the workshop aimed at: - Assessing and providing of comprehensive information about the current situation of “green farming systems” in Europe (legislation, policy, institutional background, support/subsidies, role in the rural economy and share in the national GDP, etc. ) through exchange of information and experience;
- Informing about recent lessons learned when implementing “green job” standards and their impact on the competitiveness of small-scale farming systems;
- Assessing the required preconditions for enhanced “green market” access of the small-scale agriculture sector in Europe and
- Creating or strengthening a peer network of professionals who are responsible for implementing “green economy” projects in the agriculture sector.
The participants made short presentations about the current situation in their countries covering the overall subject. |
