Implementation of Phytosanitary Standards in Forestry

Capacity building workshop for South-East European countries
15-18 April 2013, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The workshop is being organised by Food and Agriculture Organization Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (FAO REU) in close collaboration with the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO).
The overall objective of the workshop is to offer the opportunity to exchange experiences and share information on the status of the forest pest situation in the region, and to establish and improve the cooperation between national plant protection organizations (NPPOs) and forestry agencies responsible for forest protection.
The workshop will provide an opportunity not only to identify common forest pest problems within the region, but also to formulate common approaches to implement phytosanitary standards in the forest sector in South-East European countries.
The programme will include a field visit to illustrate some of the phytosanitary issues in forestry in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
