New publication on major EU-FAO governance initiative

Overview of progress of Improved Global Governance for Hunger Reduction programme

The Improved Global Governance for Hunger Reduction programme has issued a publication on its progress over the last three years.

The information package highlights many of the initiatives on food security, nutrition and resilience of the EUR 47 million-programme established between the European Union (EU) and FAO in January, 2012.

Initiatives include the Agenda for Action for improving Food Security and Nutrition in Protracted Crises, prepared under the umbrella of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS), and the support to the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP).

Equally, the publication provides information on the Resilience Index Measurement and Analysis (RIMA) Model, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the approach to Making agriculture and food systems work for nutrition, Gender Equality in Agriculture, the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure (VGGT), and the linkages between Agriculture and Social Protection and its policy implications.
