La evaluación en la FAO

Evaluaciones recientes

Evaluation of FAO’s country programme in Lebanon 2016-2019

02 July 2020
Lebanon is an upper-middle income country with a population of 4.5 million people. The agriculture sector in Lebanon is an important contributor to the livelihood of poor and vulnerable populations, including 1.5 million Syrian refugees hosted in the country. FAO prudently integrated the donor priority and the government priority by designing the resilience programme to support host communities, with emphasis on vulnerable farmers. FAO’s resilience programmes addressed both emergency and longer term development needs through interventions directly supporting small-scale farmers [...]

Evaluation of the project “Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CDAIS)”

30 June 2020
“Capacity development for agricultural innovation systems”, implemented by FAO and Agrinatura from 2015 to 2019, supported the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP) to improve the global coherence of capacity development for agricultural innovation. The project contributed to developing a common framework for a practical approach to capacity development for agricultural innovation, and piloted its application across eight countries. The approach is based on soft skills and the importance of process, as opposed to the mainstream paradigm based on developing technology and [...]

Evaluation of FAO's statistical work

10 June 2020
The evaluation of FAO’s statistical work examines the relevance and the effectiveness of statistics in the era of “leave no one behind”. It appraises the progress made by FAO and the challenges faced in establishing functional statistical governance, providing quality statistics, and adopting sustainable capacity development at the global, regional and country level. The evaluation found that statistics remain core to FAO’s overall work. Members demand for data to support SDG indicator implementation and the use of statistics in policy-making has [...]

Terminal evaluation of the project “Reducing vulnerability and increasing adaptive capacity to respond to impacts of climate change and variability for sustainable livelihoods in agriculture sector in Nepal”

30 April 2020
Nepal's agriculture sector faces many climate related hazards including floods, draught, pests and diseases, deforestation and desertification. Improved farming techniques based on resilience to climate change and extreme weather patterns are required to be integrated into agriculture sectorial policies, plans, programmes and local actions. Between October 2015 and September 2019, FAO implemented a project to support Nepal’s agriculture sector by promoting urgent and immediate adaptation measures outlined in the National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA). The project has contributed to the [...]

Terminal evaluation of “Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by promoting community forestry, removing barriers to sustainable biomass energy, and laying the groundwork for climate change mitigation in Afghanistan”

30 April 2020
Afghanistan’s high diversity of rangeland and forest ecosystems provide valuable goods and services for local communities. Unsustainable land and resource management practices, as well as climate changes, are accelerating the degradation of these ecosystems and affecting local livelihoods. FAO recognizes community based natural resource management (CBNRM) and Sustainable Biomass Energy Systems (SBES) as potential tools to address these issues, and implemented the project in the Parwan and Nangarhar provinces between August 2016 and July 2019. The evaluation presents the results [...]

Mid-term evaluation of “Disposal of obsolete pesticides including persistent organic pollutants and strengthening pesticide management in the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel member states”

29 April 2020
At the regional level, in member states of the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS), pesticides continue to accumulate. The project aims to meet the challenge of eliminating existing obsolete pesticides, including POPs and related wastes, and to build capacity for the sound management of pesticides to prevent future build-up in nine CILSS countries. The aim of the evaluation was to measure the progress of the project at mid-term, in terms of results achieved with regard [...]

Final evaluation of “Strengthening institutionalized subnational coordination structures and harmonization mechanisms” in Ethiopia

21 April 2020
Recurrent droughts in Ethiopia have been contributing to chronic food insecurity, deterioration of livelihoods and weakening capacity of communities to withstand future shocks. Following the 2011 food crisis in the Horn of Africa, ‘building resilience’ became a priority agenda for the international community to move from the division of emergency and development programming to a more holistic and complementary approach for addressing the root cause of disaster risk and vulnerability factors of recurrent drought. The project, implemented by FAO between [...]
