In the context of the 2014 International Year of Family Farming (IYFF), FAO and the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) have launched an awareness campaign targeted at farmers’ organizations and the rural population. The main objective is to use community radio as a platform to share information with the farming community and involve them further in the discussion regarding the key role family farming plays in economic and social development.

Le secteur de l’agro-entreprise et l’emploi des jeunes
Un renforcement de l’agriculture africaine s’impose pour renforcer d’une part la production à petite échelle et d’autre part pour accroître l’emploi des jeunes. Ces dernières années ont été synonyme d’exode rural vers les centres urbains pour les jeunes en recherche d’emploi. Cependant, le chômage urbain et la pauvreté ne font qu’augmenter et un grave problème de main d’œuvre subsiste encore dans les campagnes. Il est donc nécessaire de renforcer le secteur agro-industriel et de créer des conditions conformes aux jeunes entrepreneurs. Ces interviews ont été effectuées lors de la 28ème session de la Conférence régionale de la FAO pour l’Afrique qui s’est tenue à Tunis du 24 au 28 mars 2014.
