Second rapid assessment of food and nutrition security in the context of COVID-19 in Bangladesh

COVID-19 is a global health crisis that has caused a shock to food and agricultural systems around the world, affecting production, supply chains, trade, markets, and people’s livelihoods and nutrition. This second assessment, developed with our partners, provides an invaluable and wide-ranging analysis that underlines the scale and scope of COVID-19’s impact on food and agriculture in Bangladesh. Informed policy decisions depend on high quality and timely data and analysis. To this end, it is our hope and ambition that these rapid assessments contribute to sound and effective action to mitigate the enormous damage that COVID-19 has caused and the impact that it will continue to exert. The extent of the disruption across multiple food systems and sectors is all too clear but despite the challenges, there are many reasons to be optimistic as we continue to adapt to this crisis and support the Government of Bangladesh.
