An alliance of national farmers organizations established in 2002, currently with 20 member organizations, comprising 13 M small scale family farmers, in 16 countries in Asia. AFA manages regionally coordinated but nationally implemented programs on advocacy, capacity building and knowledge management that aim to promote rights to natural resources ( land, water, forests, seeds), sustainable and climate resilient agriculture through integrated, diversified, agro ecological approaches in farms and forests, strong and viable farmers cooperatives and enterprises, equal rights, opportunities and benefits for women farmers and involvement of youth in agriculture
