The National Codex Committee has established a stakeholder Group where trade organizations, trade unions, branch organizations, consumers and the scienfific community are invited to give input and submit comments on Codex proposals

The Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Input is provided to work in all horisontal committees and TF-AMR. List of issues cannot be provided.

National bodies providing risk assessment and scientific advice
Being a member of the European Union reference is made to data and scientific opinions from the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA). The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) also provides scientific input - in particular DTU Food and DTU Vet.

Official Laboratory
Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has 1 official Laboratory (and uses in specific cases DTU facilities).
Official Competence
The DVFA-laboratory performs both microbiological and chemical analyses. The laboratory is responsible for: • Nationally coordinated monitoring, mapping and control programmes, e.g. relating to salmonella in meat •Regionally managed inspection samples •Market-driven activities: samples and tests requested by private enterprises •Import sampling

Surveillance of foodborne diseases and monitoring of food contamination

National surveillance systems – foodborne disease in humans
Statens Seruminstitut is responsible for registration of the most important cases of salmonella, campylobacter and Vtec list.
National monitoring systems – foodborne hazards in the food chain
The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has monitoring systems in place on campylobacter in broilers and chicken meat, salmonella in poultry and poultry meat, salmonella in pigs and pork, cattle and beef. Monitoring listeria in ready-to-eat products. There is also monitoring in place for chemical contaminants, MRL for pesticides and veterinary medicine, food additives, antibiotics and AMR.
