World Customs Organization (WCO), established in 1952 as the Customs Co-operation Council (CCC).The WCO has 183 Members who jointly administer 98% of world trade. The mission of the WCO is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Member Customs administrations, thereby assisting them to contribute successfully to national development goals, particularly in the areas of trade facilitation, revenue collection, community protection and national security. The cooperation with the Codex Alimentarius will enhance understanding between the organizations, improve the knowledge of each other’s instruments, create opportunities for coordination when developing tools and instruments and create the potential for coordination and cooperation at operational level in the respective Member Countries.
