لجنة تنسيق الدستور الغذائي لأفريقيا - المنسق الإقليمي لأوغندا

تم إنشاء "لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في أفريقيا" من قبل هيئة الدستور الغذائي في عام 1972 بهدف "ممارسة التنسيق العام في إعداد المواصفات المتعلقة بمنطقة إفريقيا". وعقدت اللجنة اجتماعها الأول في منظمة الأغذية والزراعة في عام 1974 بحضور 19 دولة.

ومع بدء فترة عمل المنسق الإقليمي الجديد، عزز اتفاق منطقة التجارة الحرة القارية الأفريقية (AfCFTA)، والذي دخل حيز التنفيذ في أيار/ مايو 2020، من الحاجة إلى نظام يتسم بالكفاءة والفعالية لإدارة تدابير الصحة والصحة النباتية، ولا سيما بالنسبة سلامة الأغذية، عبر القارة في الوقت الذي تفتح فيه حدودها للتجارة.

ويقع مقر المنسق الإقليمي في المكتب الوطني للمواصفات في أوغندا، وهو هيئة قانونية تابعة لوزارة التجارة والصناعة والتعاونيات تشرف على تعزيز واستخدام المواصفات كجزء من تفويضها.

وتعتزم أوغندا، كمنسق إقليمي، المشاركة بشكل وثيق مع البلدان من خلال المسوحات والندوات عبر الإنترنت وورش العمل لتحديد الاحتياجات والقضايا الناشئة، وخلق الوعي بقضايا سلامة الأغذية ذات الأولوية ومواصفات الدستور الغذائي. كما ستقوم دراسة تجريبية باستكشاف وضع سلامة الأغذية من ناحية أوسع في جميع أنحاء المنطقة. ومن خلال تعزيز المشاركة مع الهيئات الإقليمية مثل الاتحاد الأفر والمنظمة الأفريقية لتوحيد المواصفات وأمانة منطقة التجارة الحرة القارية الأفريقية، تهدف أوغندا أيضا إلى تعزيز أعمال المناصرة في المنطقة.

CCAFRICA24 / successful regional meeting sends new standards to Commission

Burundi / Training of quality champions and National Forum for effective participation in Codex

Burundi, a Member of Codex since 1963, needs to have an operational National Codex Alimentarius Committee and has begun to sensitize decision-makers on the importance of Codex standards. Liberia / President signs law establishing Liberia Standards Authority

On 5 August 2022 the President of Liberia George Weah signed into law a series of bills. The official Facebook page of the Liberia Presidency and government websites describe the measures as a spur to national inclusiveness and to fight corruption. Codex Trust Fund / Workshop in Nigeria on importance of using Codex standards
