非洲的农业潜力大部分尚未被开发,撒哈拉以南非洲地区拥有世界上约60%未耕作的耕地。一些国家拥有完善的农业、食品生产和零售部门,以满足国内和国际市场。

市场准入导致对制定基于科学原则的食品标准(包括食品安全标准)的迫切需要,以实现国内、区域和国际食品贸易,从而确保非洲在全球食品贸易中的作用。

Codex tools workshop highlights need for effective preparation

The two-day Regional Technical Workshop for National Codex Contact Points held in Nairobi, Kenya 6-7 February 2018 brought together participants from close to 25 African countries. Dr. Moses Gathura Gichia Coordinator for Africa Region retires

CCAFRICA Coordinator and Executive Committee Member of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, Dr. Moses Gathura Gichia has recently announced his retirement from public service and as the Coordinator of the Joint FAO/WHO Regional Coordinating Committee for Africa. Kenya hosts successful Coordinating Committee

This video report from CNBC Africa reviews the 22nd session of the FAO/WHO Regional Coordinating Committee for Africa which met in Nairobi, Kenya earlier this month. A united African voice for Codex

The 20th session of the FAO/WHO Regional Coordinating Committee for the African region began yesterday in Nairobi, Kenya. The continent of Africa consists of 54 very diverse countries covering 11.7 million square miles. Trade in region now runs in excess of 50 billion USD a year. Strengthening National Codex Committees

CCAFRICA has been involved in strengthening National Codex Committees in Lesotho,Swaziland and Zimbambwe. This has empowered CCAFRICA to participate in the global standard development process and reap the benefits of implementing Codex Standards. CCAFRICA acknowledges the support of FAO in this endevour. A workshop sponsored by the AU-IBAR was held in December 2015 in Senegal on Strengthening of National Codex Committees in the ECOWAS region block.

WHO: safer food for all

CCAFRICA was central in development of WHO :Safer Food For All document which is aimed to simplify application of the HACCP Principles in Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs). CCAFRICA closely collaborated with WHO in the exercise.
