Координационный комитет Кодекса по Латинской Америке и странам Карибского бассейна (CCLAC), региональный координатор – Чили

Население стран Латинской Америки и Карибского бассейна превышает 600 миллионов человек; этот регион характеризуется широким разнообразием этнических, социальных, культурных и демографических характеристик.

Экономика стран в значительной степени базируется на добыче полезных ископаемых, главным образом нефти, а также на горнодобывающей, обрабатывающей и агропромышленной отраслях индустрии.

В течение последнего десятилетия регион переживал глубокие экономические и социальные преобразования, которые позволили миллионам людей выйти из бедности и повысили численность среднего класса. Определяющим фактором такого прогресса послужил прочный экономический рост под влиянием как местных реформ, так и благоприятного глобального экономического климата.

Официальные языки региона – испанский, английский и португальский. В странах также используются французский и голландский языки.

Из 46 стран, входящих в состав региона, 33 причислены к CCLAC и составляют 20% из всех стран-участников Кодекса.

Guatemala to hold World Food Safety Day webinar

Latin America and Caribbean region pioneers new ways of working in Codex

In October 2019 the 21st FAO/WHO Coordinating Committee for the Latin America and the Caribbean region (CCLAC) was interrupted after only two half days of discussions as demonstrations in Santiago, Chile forced the hosts to suspend the session. Four new standards, discussions and consensus. A productive session for fruit and veg
