拉美加协调委员会区域:区域协调员智利

拉丁美洲及加勒比区域的居民人数超过6亿,不仅是一个种族多样化,而且社会、文化和人口也多样化的地区。

经济主要依赖于自然资源开采,主要是该区域的石油和采矿、制造业和农业。

近十年来,该区域经历了深刻的经济和社会转型,使数百万人摆脱贫困,壮大了中产阶级。在国内改革和有利的全球经济环境驱动下,这一进步得益于强劲的经济增长。

该区域主要官方语言是西班牙文、英文和葡萄牙文。然而,一些国家也是法语和荷兰语国家。

组成该区域的46个国家中,33个属于拉美加协调委员会,占所有参与法典国家的20%。

Codex Members gather in Mexico to develop standards for fresh fruits and vegetables

Members and Observers from over 30 countries will meet in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico from 7 to 11 October 2019 to develop standards at the 21st session of the Codex Committee on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (CCFFV). Nicaragua celebrates first World Food Safety Day

To celebrate World Food Safety Day, Nicaragua has been promoting an initiative to increase the visibility of food safety and its importance, through the creation of murals in health centers of 153 municipalities nationwide. Guyana ups its Codex game

Earlier this year, the Codex Secretariat launched a series of workshops  in the six Codex regions that are having a direct impact on the operational capacity of countries to engage in the standard-setting process.
