Comité del Codex sobre Aditivos Alimentarios (CCFA)

Mandato:(a) establecer o ratificar niveles máximos permitidos para los distintos aditivos alimentarios;
(b) preparar listas de prioridades de aditivos alimentarios para que el Comité Mixto FAO-OMS de Expertos en Aditivos Alimentarios evalúe sus riesgos;
(c) asignar categorías funcionales a los distintos aditivos alimentarios;
(d) recomendar especificaciones de identidad y pureza de los aditivos alimentarios para su aprobación por la Comisión;
(e) examinar métodos de análisis para determinar la presencia de aditivos alimentarios en los alimentos; y
(f) examinar y elaborar normas o códigos para cuestiones afines, como el etiquetado de aditivos alimentarios que se venden como tales.
