GENERAL INFORMATION

The 8th Session of the Ad hoc Codex Intergovernmental Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance will be held from 4-9 October 2021.

The Codex Secretariat, in consultation with the Republic of Korea, as host country of TFAMR, and FAO/WHO, will determine whether TFAMR08 will convene a physical or virtual session.

ELECTRONIC WORKING GROUPS

EWGs continue to work in accordance with the mandates given by TFAMR07 (2019) and based on inputs from the participants to the EWG will report on their progress to TFAMR08.

WEBINARS IN PREPARATION FOR TFAMR08

Guidelines for the Monitoring and Surveillance of Foodborne AMR

Two webinars were convened on 19th and 20th January 2021 which enabled the Chairperson of the EWG to provide an overview of the work to date and the areas needing further input and allowed Members to provide comments and questions for further consideration by the EWG. The webinar was open to Codex Members and Observers as part of the efforts underway to facilitate progression of the Guidelines at the next session of TFAMR.
