Mandate/competence
AMRA Animal Directorate undertakes routine inspection of live animals (import and domestic, Export ) and food producs from plant , animal and Equatic MoH, Public health Directorate take aresponsiblities of ispection local locatios markets and some types of food at the ports of entry . The Food Safety laboratories of both AMRA& MoH has significant and advanced capacity to undertake analysis of food borne diseases and contaminants (both natural toxins and chemicals).

Food safety and consumer protection – laws and regulations

In due course lists of legislation related to food safety and consumer protection in each country will be provided. This will be based on FAO's database on Food Legislation (FAOLEX) verified with countries before uploading.

Risk Assessments and Scientific Data

National bodies providing risk assessment and scientific advice
- Central Verterinary Laboratory provide scientific advice to different sections in AMR -the MOH assigned a Risk Communications Officer within its Public Health Directorate to workwith, and have direct access to public relations, health promotion and IHR focal points. - the countryhas a coordinated risk communication management system for public health that cuts across other sectorsand is integrated into the national disaster plans. Their is collabration between CVL and BHL
