The media plays a vital role in World Food Safety Day 2023 successes

World Food Safety Day messages reached people across at least 139 countries this year. Newspapers, online news sites, television programmes, radio stations and magazines all played a part in spreading the word. New video: Codex and India’s White Revolution

In 1970, an ambitious programme to develop India’s dairy sector was launched under the name “Operation Flood”. The aim was to scale up a successful dairy cooperative at Anand in Gujarat State. It was implemented by India’s National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) with technical assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Qatari authorities join forces on World Food Safety Day

The Qatar General Authority for Standardization and Metrology held World Food Safety Day events on 7 and 8 June under the theme “Food standards save lives”. Celebrations took place in collaboration with the Municipality, Qatar University, and Monoprix supermarkets and included a popup stall showcasing awareness videos and emphasizing the importance of food safety to consumers and children. FAO presents actions for different stakeholders to combat foodborne antimicrobial resistance
