The 38th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission has come to a close in Geneva.

36 standards were adopted at the final step 8 of the Codex process including standards for Ginseng, a series of canned fruits and frozen vegetables and Guidelines for the Control of Trichinella.

The draft maximum residue limits for bovine somatotorpin were held at step 8 to provide further time to facilitate possible consensus.
