The FAOTERM System is a multilingual terminology database in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish and Italian. Some records also show the Scientific Name. There are approximately 70,000 records in FAOTERM of which 9,000 are titles.

FAOTERM has been updated to improve user access. Users now have faster access to query results while entries are displayed in all six languages.

It should be noted that not all the records contain equivalents in all six languages. The database is continuously being developed to achieve language parity, include new technical terms and update titles. Some terms contain definitions, cross references, context and remarks.

The FAOTERM terminology database should be used for all working and official purposes and especially for abbreviations/acronyms, bodies, organizations and specific technical terms.
