West and Central Africa Network
Good experience on FFS is available in West and Central Africa, with several projects dealing with a broad range of technical issues, including Integrated Pest Management and Integrated Production and Pest Management (IPPM), climate change adaptation, and integration of smallholders into value chains. Better coordination will create new synergies among initiatives in the different countries. A regional workshop was held in December 2015 in Dakar, resulting in the creation of a Regional Network of FFS specialists from 21 countries in Central and Western Africa. This network will:
- build an information platform to share experiences and expertise;
- provide technical / methodological assistance to enhance FFS capabilities;
- help ensure the quality of FFS by harmonizing approaches;
- carry out advocacy for FFS institutionalization, resource mobilization and visibility
