The population in some developing countries' cities affected by crisis may increase consequently, due to refugees, Internally Displaced Peoples and rural populations, fleeing poverty, insecurity and other adversities. The most of this population is constituted of women and young migrants who continue relying on agriculture to earn a living when coming to (peri) urban areas.
The challenges posed to the cities' infrastructure and economy, in order to support the incoming people include provision of: - sufficient advise for an adapted agriculture and a balanced food diet
- basic social services and counseling
- access to local markets
- access to land and
- energy
