Flavia Ferreira de Castro is the idealist, creator and director of the Feed and Food Safety Feedlatina Program - A project for regulatory harmonization and feed safety in Latin America and the Caribbean (STDF/PG/345), approved by the STDF/WTO with the support of FAO, OIE and IICA and the participation of AR, BO, BR, CH, CR, CO, CU, EC, MX, PE, PY, UR , regional associations and feed industries. Flavia Castro is the Executive Director of FEEDLATINA – Latin-American Feed Industry Association since 2010 and was the Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Communication and Technical Coordinator of Sindirações – Brazilian Feed Industries Association for 14 years, and the Co-Organizer of the 1st and 2nd Global Feed and Food Congress 2005 and 2007 in Brazil. She´s also represented the Latin-American and Brazilian industries in Codex Alimentarius Meetings (Animal Feed, Residues of Veterinary Drugs and Latin America) Brazilian from São Paulo, graduated as Agronomist Engineer at UNESP, Brazil; postgraduate in Agribusiness at UFLA, Brazil and International Relations, Economy and Development in Latin America – Mercosur MSc at UDELAR, Uruguay.

It´s a basic principle for ensuring the food safety, as well as one of the bases for ensuring the sustainability of animal production.
¿Cuál ha sido su contribución más importante a la inocuidad de piensos?
I was one of the creators and manager of the GMP, HACCP and Global Gap implementation and certification program in Brazil, as well as working for the implementation of good manufacturing practices as mandatory in Brazilian industry, extending this experience to all of Latin America, especially with the Idealization and implementation of the FEED & FOOD SAFETY LATINAMERICA PROGRAM supported by the STDF in 10 countries.
