Fish capture technology encompasses the process of catching any aquatic animal, using any kind of fishing methods including artisanal fisheries, normally operated from a vessel.
- Atlas of tuna and billfish catches
Tuna and tuna-like species occur in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans and in the Mediterranean Sea. They are very important economically and a significant source of food. The Atlas presents the global distribution of catches, at 5° latitude by 5° longitude resolution, of those tuna and tuna-like species for which this distribution is generally well known on the global scale. These species consist of the so-called principal market tunas and some billfishes.

توجد أسماك التونة والأنواع المشابهة لها في المحيط الأطلسي والمحيطين الهندي والهادي وفي البحر المتوسط. وهى أنواع ذات أهمية اقتصادية بالغة، كما تشكل مصدرا مهما من مصادر الأغذية. ويتضمن الأطلس التوزيع العالمي لهذا المصيد على خطي طول 5 درجات وعرض 5 درجات، وهو توزيع معروف على صعيد عالمي. وتشكل هذه الأنواع الجزء الأساسي من السوق الرئيسية للتونة وبعض أنواع السمك طويل المنقار.
