| Abstract | |
| English | This document is one of the guidelines (in the ASFIS Reference Series) prepared in support of the Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Information System (ASFIS), an international information system for the science, technology and management of marine and freshwater environments, of which ASFA is an output. The ASFIS Reference Series comprises the rules, authority lists, formats, codes and procedures on which the system is based. The present guidelines utilize information contained in: the ISO International Standard No. 214, Documentation - Abstracts for publications and documentation (1976). This third revision was deemed necessary mainly because the second revision did not contain adequate information on the important topics of total record length and abstract length. |
