Functions
The Service provides information, advice and technical assistance to FAO Members on reduction and mitigation of the impact of fisheries, in the inland and marine ecosystems, on target resources, non-target, dependent and associated species, and their environment including habitats, food chains, ecosystem services and genetic composition, in accordance with modern assessment and management standards and best practices for responsible fisheries.
