Monitoring, Management and Conservation of Resources for Aquaculture Development

Objective
Improved national capacity for policy formulation based on solid information and analysis, and better cooperation of major stakeholders at local, national and regional levels, as well as greater awareness of, and improved policy environments and adequate technical capacities for, sustainable aquaculture practices should lead to overall sound sustainable management and conservation of these resources in line with the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries. Improved local, national and regional capacities to implement practices for the sustainable intensification of production systems in aquaculture should result in a substantial increase in fish supplies.

Technical Support Services to Members and the Field Programme in the area of Fishery Resources

Objective
The improved knowlege of the state of marine and inland ecosystems and of the abundance and production potential of the exploited fishery resources contributes to their better use and conservation, to the benefit of FAO member countries, fishery management authorities, fishers and consumers.
Monitoring, Management and Conservation of Fishery Resources

Objective
Greater national and international awareness, improved national and regional policy environments and adequate technical capacities for fisheries enhancement and management, as well as resources conservation, in particular in relation to the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, should lead to more sustainable development. Improved local, national and regional capacities to conserve and manage resources should result in the maintenance and an increase (where possible) in fish supplies.
