Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA) is an International Cooperative Information System which comprises an abstracting and indexing service covering the world's literature on the science, technology, management, and conservation of marine, brackish water, and freshwater resources and environments, including their socio-economic and legal aspects.The ASFA "Partnership Agreement" establishes the rights and responsibilities of the ASFA Partners. Partners entitlements to ASFA information products are listed in Article 5 of the Publishing Agreement between FAO and ProQuest (2016-2019) . To become a member of the ASFA Partnership, organizations must agree (through signature) to the conditions contained in the ASFA Partnership Agreement. The Partnership Agreement also describes the functions of the ASFA Advisory Board and the ASFA Secretariat. Management The ASFA Partnership is composed of an international network of co-operating institutions and organisations. The ASFA Partners are responsible for monitoring, selecting, abstracting and indexing literature relevant to the aquatic sciences for inclusion in the ASFA bibliographic database.
