FAO Technical Guidelines for Responsible Fisheries

The Department has published technical guidelines in support of the implementation of the Code.

Other technical guidelines are under preparation.

The booklet, entitled "What is the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries?" describes, in a non-technical manner, some important aspects of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries. The purpose is to create greater awareness of the goals and purpose of the Code and to encourage its effective application in all capture fisheries and in aquaculture. The booklet does not replace the Code of Conduct but simply presents some of the complex information contained within the Code in a simplified form in an attempt to make it more accessible to all users of fisheries.

A CD-ROM on the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries is also available upon request.
